I love Joshua Springs, it's the number one place my dog and I come to hike. Not only is it beautiful, there is no admission fee, PLUS there's a dog park!! I only wish it were open later in the summer.
The grass in the dog park was too prickly/stiff for my small dog to comfortably walk around on. I imagine a large dog would have no trouble. The rest of the park is very nice and it looks like it could accommodate large groups

Great park with a really play scape. There are many fantastic views of the lake and lots of hiking trails. If you like to fish, you're in luck too.
Pretty nice dog park with seperated areas, wish it had a water feature, and also wish there was one in boerne.
Only complaint is that the playground isn't more shaded - slides were too hot for my little ones at 11am. It is Texas though.
